Apple pledges increased investment in China

 On October 15, 2025, Apple Inc. pledged to expand its investments and deepen cooperation in China following a meeting between CEO Tim Cook and China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Li Lecheng in Beijing. Though no specific investment numbers were disclosed, the commitment aligns with Apple’s strategy to mitigate the impact of U.S. tariffs by reinforcing its China operations, especially for supply chain, research and development, and local partnerships. The Chinese side welcomed the move and pledged to maintain a favorable business environment for foreign firms amid growing U.S.–China tensions. During the visit, Cook also toured Apple’s Shanghai store and held dialogues with local game developers and content creators.
